Victory @ Gethsemane? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor Garner

Gethsemane is the garden where Jesus prayed for perhaps hours with breaks in between. It is believed that emotions can lead to a persons death. The Bible says that Jesus' blood actually came out of His pores as he prayed. This would indicate that He was dealing with intense emotions; as He was praying about going to the cross. He wasn't afraid of dying because the Bible says, He talked about His resurrection etc. So, what would lead Christ Jesus, who was both fully man and and fully God, in the flesh  to have such intense emotions while praying?

May be it was the fact that He was becoming sin for the world. The sinless Christ, was taking on our sins, that we might victory in Him.    Hebrews 4:15

The Bible says that The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23

Victory?  How so?

We have Victory in Christ when we trust Him with our lives. We may physically walk through the door of death,  if the rapture  of the New Testament Church doesn't call us into the air to meet Christ first.  1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18  We have victory over sin. The moment we ask Jesus to take over our lives, the chains of sin are broken. We have victory in the reality of knowing the moment we trust Christ the Holy Spirit begins to teach us in order that we begin to look like the person that God intended when he placed Adam & Eve in the garden.

So, is Gethsemane a garden of victory? Oh yes. In Christ alone.  Hallelujah

What Cancer Cannot Do PDF Print E-mail

The Adrian Rogers ministry- recently sent out a devotional that really speaks to the heart.

What if you had an appointment with the doctor and found out that you had cancer?

Maybe you have heard this news or heard it on behalf of a loved one. I want to tell you some things cancer cannot do. Cancer cannot shatter hope. Cancer cannot corrode faith. Cancer cannot eat away peace. Cancer cannot place a limit on eternal life. Cancer cannot quench the Spirit of God and cancer cannot lessen the power of the resurrection. That’s how limited cancer is!

Is there someone in your life that is suffering from cancer? Give them the Good News that you've read today. And pray that they will know the Savior.

Romans 8:38-39

How should young people conduct themselves on a daily basis? We know the Holy Spirit comes into a person's life the moment he or she turns their life over to Christ. So, what instructions should permeate the Christian life as they walk in Him?

1 Timothy 4:12

If we are breathing the Lord has two opportunities for us. 1) Praise Him.  2) Touch the lives of others with Him. Take a look at the passage and then see where you are in your walk.  Luke 10: 1-4

Matthew 16:24   Ecclesiastes 4:9

Scholars remind us how to serve Christ while we're breathing.

1)  Share His compassion  2) Seek His resources 3) Obey His command to go 4) Trust His power 5) Accept His provisions.
