Psalm 107 How is your Progress, Pilgrim? PDF Print E-mail

I preached on Psalm 107 this past Sunday, and want to add another verse to that theme: Psalm 107:20, "He sent His Word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions."

So, God's word not only brings hope it brings healing. Sometimes we ask for healing and then get disappointed as to how the healing transpires. Romans 8:28 says that God will always make something good out of our circumstances - no exceptions.

As the old song by Pastor Elisha Hoffman reminds us, "I must tell Jesus all of my trials, I cannot bear these burdens alone; In my distress He kindly will help me..."  This song, written many years ago, displays our need to take every care, concern, and praise to Jesus. So beloved, our wisdom- the Godly kind- kicks in when we rest and trust in him. Hallelujah.

Note: I hope your caught the hint in the title regarding John Bunyan.

Romans 8:28 James 1:5

Note: the sermon will be loaded to the website later this evening.

The Bible says: we are either a friend or an enemy of God. There is no middle ground. It teaches that we are either saved by His grace through Christ or we are lost without Him. Can anyone else save us? What does the Bible say? John 14:6

Well can a person be so evil that he or she be beyond the saving grace of Christ? Consider the Apostle Paul. Scholar describe him as an enemy of Christ. The following passages detail Paul's life without Christ and his hindrance to the gospel.

Acts 9: 1-18   Acts 22: 1-21  Acts 26: 9-18  Galatians 1: 11-24  Galatians 2: 20  Philippians 3: 1-21 1 Timothy 1: 12-17

The Gospel of Jesus Christ will change your life, and save you, if you will ask Him.  Romans 3:23   Romans 6: 23

Romans 5:8 Romans 10: 9-10  & Romans 10:13

Paul tells us to beware of those who add to the gospel of Jesus Christ. For some the idea of adding seems to bring some personal input into the formula. Friend the Bible is very clear, the only thing we bring to the table is our faith in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2: 8-10 Paul said that you really must decide between the Law or Grace of Christ, works salvation or Faith in Christ, or following Man or God.

Galatians 5:1

Me.................Worry? PDF Print E-mail

When I was a kid there was a magazine with a unique looking fellow on the cover that declared that he would not worry. His name was Alfred E. Neuman or something along those lines. Worry is an interesting animal. It tends to rob us of Joy. Someone has said: pondering on yesterday or tomorrow can rob us of our biblical Joy. Worrying tells God that He is not in control; and it also adds lines to our faces and can make the undertaker understandably giddy.

Romans 8:28 tells us that God is going to make something good out of everything in our lives-regardless.

The Psalmist also gives us another view in the area of worry,

Psalm 37 :1-4
