Dr. Jones, an education professor from Liberty University, died along with one of her sons last Sunday night in an auto accident. She and her husband, Raymond, have one other son, Ray Jr. The following quote is a part of her work in the area of devotions.

“If I could give everyone only one piece of advice it would be the following, ‘Greet each day by sliding out of bed and hitting your knees. Tell God how much you love Him and thank Him for everything you can think of. Then give Him your day, energy, passion, desire, and needs. Talk to Him throughout your day. Turn off the radio while you drive and picture Him sitting beside you. Tell Him what is on your mind and ask Him advice. Then wait for the answer. He is faithful to always respond...we often simply assume He will not. Finally, treat each day with the desire to make your Heavenly Father smile. I like to close my eyes and picture my actions bringing a smile to His face.’”

Relationships are probably the most heart touching or heart challenging activities of our lives. Adrian Rogers has an interesting understanding from the Book of James regarding conflict resolution.

Try this out with your spouse ,friend or co-worker,

1) Be quick to hear  (Tune in)

2) Slow to speak      (Tone it down)

3) Slow to anger       (Lighten up)

He may be on to something. James 1: 19-20

The Good News dealing with Temptation

In the sermon this past Sunday, we learned the four steps that can lead to the act of sin. Here’s the good news, Satan cannot tempt us without God’s permission (Job 1: 6-12). And when God gives permission, He will always place limits; hence, God will always be in control. Through God’s control He will sustain His child. In the Book of the Revelation, those who will be saved after the rapture of the church will still have the Grace of God to sustain them (1 Corinthians 10:13).
