Passion Week and Beyond PDF Print E-mail

Yesterday, Jesus cleaned out the temple. He drove out the money changers and while doing so he quoted Isaiah reminding them that the purpose and priority of God's house is prayer. Isaiah 56:7

James 5:13-16 talks about flock issues. Then, as if that wasn't a clock stopper for us, James, the half-brother of Jesus, goes even further to remind us of our important connection to the success of Revival. In his letter about Christian conduct he tells about the amazing things God did through Elijah and then says in James 5:17, "Elijah was a man with a nature like ours." WOW.

Today, being Tuesday of Passion Week, I wonder what the Lord is doing. Check your chart from Sunday. pm

When I was younger PDQ stood for getting something accomplished really quick. I was thinking and reading about the Psalms. One writer reminds us of the value of reading a Psalm during our quiet time. By reading a Psalm we can learn more about experiencing God's presence during both good and difficult times. Quiet time with The Lord is essential in spiritual growth. So, what else can PDQ stand for in our lives?

Daily Bible reading

Quiet time.

Someone came up with the following acronym for our prayers-

A for adoration-

C for confession-

T for thanksgiving

S for supplication = This is the time when we ask God to save, heal, protect, anoint, and provide etc.

What Does Passion Week Mean to You? PDF Print E-mail

Passion Week is considered to begin on Palm Sunday and continues through Resurrection morning. We know that Jesus sits at the right hand of God making intercession or better stated, talking to the Father on our behalf.

Last night in our study of Psalm 22, I shared a statement that really encapsulates what Easter/Passion week means for me and possibly for you.

A scholar said this, "Jesus is bearing our Hell so that we might share His heaven." pm
