Why Choose Life… because our God tells us to do so. God says things in the Bible, by way of giving us leadership, that might seem onerous to an unsaved person. However, they will discover as they turn to Christ for salvation, that the Holy Spirit  helps them understand what God wants for all of us is actually for our own good. It is almost like a recorded message to hear a new Christian say, “I wish I would have asked Christ to save me earlier in life.” Why, because in our unsaved state we don’t have the H.S. living in us, showing us the purpose of Christ for our lives.

As mentioned in the sermon “Choose Life,” available on this website, are the words Moses shared with the Jewish people. Translation: “Obey God and enjoy His blessings.”

I’m in the “Choose Life frame of mind” because our daughter is expecting a baby.  A couple of days after preaching “The Value of Life” which emphasized the protecting of babies in the womb, our daughter called to give us this great news. As we walked in the mall following her call, I continually prayed “Choose Life” in the mind-set of, “Lord we’re asking you to protect this little one in the womb.”

Did you notice the furor about Tim Tebow and his mom’s commercial during the Super Bowl? Wow, what a brilliant commercial to encourage people to go to the focusonthefamily.com website. We have their link on our site.

Life is precious because it is created in God’s image, and it is created by God himself (Gen 1:27, Jeremiah 1:5).

I may be rambling, but this particular blog has been in my heart since last week.  Today, our daughter is officially expecting.  Hallelujah. Please join us in praying for the little one, the parents and the grandparents. May they, with God’s help, encourage and nurture this little one.

I gave you the up side of loving and obeying God. Please let me give you the other side  i.e. failing to ask Christ to save us.

Sooner or later we will stand/kneel before Jesus Christ. Paul tells us, as he is repeating Isaiah, in Romans 14:11, “For it is written, “AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD.”

May you trust Him is my prayer for you?   pm
